Do I gather from other comments that you have arrived in the Fens? Splendid. I work here too, albeit on the other side of the city. Let me know if you want to meet up at any time.
Also, I seem to know quite a lot of ex-Newnhamites, if that's any help.
Actually I haven't yet - that was my little pre-moving excitement/minor freakout. I leave, in fact, on the morrow.
Meeting up would be good! If the testimony of the friends I already have up there is anything to go by I will be spending the next couple of weeks swamped with Everything Under The Sun, but once I've settled in we could maybe get coffee sometime?
Yes, first weeks are very like that (from what I distantly remember of my own, at a red-brick). Very best of luck.
Meeting up would indeed be good, once you've got your bearings etc. I can't easily get into town at lunchtime (I work about half a ile north of the Grafton Centre - Canmbridge, being Cambridge, built its biggest shopping centre half a mile out of the city centre). But I come in after work, or meet uyou at lunch on my side of town. And, is such things appeal to you, there are many fine public houses in Cambridge, which is something I have researched extebnsively ;-)
