1. It actually came to me in a dream.
2. ...okay, that's a lie. But this is my third time writing it, due to various computer problems. The result of this, of course, is that since I actually started the entry, I have had caffeine and also dinner.
3. This ultimately means that I am hyper and kind of tired and it's ten past eleven.
4. The moral of the story is, good luck with this entry. (Um, might as well warn you now - spoilers for Fullmetal Alchemist up to episode fourteen.
So, without further ado...
So, as some may have gathered, I went over to my *very* good friend Riona's house to watch Fullmetal Alchemist today.
It is AWESOME. I mean, it makes me cry, but it's still awesome. I have never before been able to say this with such conviction about an anime. JUST THE WHOLE THING IS SO GODDAMN AWESOME
EVEN THE NOT-SO-AWESOME PARTS ARE AWESOME
IT HURTS MY SOUL. (Yes, yes, alright, I caught the caps disease too. But that's unrelated!)
I adore Alphonse. I mean, it's not even fair how much I adore Alphonse. He's a walking suit of armour. That should not be cute. He's just...meh. I love him. I love the way he's fourteen years old and still doesn't seem to have changed from the little kid who just wanted to see his mother again. I love how he's still so innocent in the face of everything he's seen. I love how he's the one who tries to reach out to Fletcher and Russell (when do they find out Russell's name? Does anyone know?) while Ed just sees them as impostors. In fact, I love him for all the opposite reasons to the ones I love Ed for.
Nowww. Ed. Seriously. He's impetuous, he's not infallible, his hair is awesome, he tries to be grown-up but there's still something inherently childish about him, and he is short. What's not to like? He's impulsive, he's touchy about his height, he makes Al sad. I don't know why this makes me love him even more. BUT IT DOES. IT TOTALLY TOTALLY DOES. And there was that thing in the first ending theme when he looked up at you and smiled and ED CAN I HUG YOU PLEASE AND ALSO GIVE ME YOUR CLOAK. THAT IS ONE DAMN FINE CLOAK.
...I could go on, but I want to punish Riona for holding the series hostage. (Even though we watched fourteen back-to-back episodes today, which I'm pretty sure does our sight no good.) You'll have to wait until next time for my thoughts on the various militaries, duckies. ^_^
The themes (various) are stupidly addictive.
Fits the series, really.
